The Best of Spring – Pre-Qingming Long Jing Tea There goes a saying; Pre-Qingming Tea is a rarity like gold. Spring is the season of the most opportune moment to pick the Lung Jing leaves. Long Jing is considered to be China's most famous green tea, widely recognized and appreciated based on its four merits: “greenish, aromatic, mellow and slick”. The premium early season first-picking known as Ming Qian or Pre-Qingming Long Jing tea requires the leaves to be plucked three days after the Qing Ming Festival in spring.
The Pre-Qingming Long Jing is only harvested once a year in spring which gives it the remaining time of the year to store large amounts of nutrients, in fact, it has one of the highest concentrations of green tea antioxidants, namely catechins. The taste is refreshingly brisk and vibrant, with a very smooth, velvety length to the flavor and aromatic sweet flavor. Before infusion, higher quality Long Jing teas have a strikingly attractive flat, tight shaped leaf on tipped ends with a vibrant, shiny emerald colour. The Long Jung plantation situates at a dense forest where the climate is calmand the temperature is low so that the plantation is not interfered by insects without the need for spraying insecticide making the tea insecticide free and safe to drink.
