It all started at the early 18th century when nobleman Giuseppe Sambonet, an able goldsmith and silversmith who lived in Vercelli, northern Italy was entrusted with the restoration of precious sacred objects held at the local cathedral. Building on his success in the restoration work, Giuseppe Sambonet used his sophisticated skills of manipulating metal to create both functional and appealing products, symbolizing the mark of excellence in tableware market for years to come. By the early 1900's, Sambonet was appointed the official tableware supplier for many noble families.
